The pediatric cardiology plays an eminent role in the hospital Necker-Enfants Malades where the stethoscope was invented. The Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology department is the largest European center for the treatment of children’s heart disease.

More than 2,000 children are treated each year with cardiac surgery and Percutaneous Interventional Procedures. Many innovative techniques have been developed in the unit of Congenital Heart Malformations Complex.

The skills of the teams in Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital enable cardiac interventions from fetus stage and then at all ages of life.

One in every 100 children has a heart defect. We commit ourselves to ensure that the progress started in the beginning of the century continues, and contributes to improving their quality of life by refining the care from medical staff.

Chef José Andrés founded World Central Kitchen (WCK) in 2010, after the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

The WCK’s Resilience Programs strengthen food and nutrition security.
When disaster strikes, WCK reacts quickly and effectively by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens. They know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis. WCK has served more than 70 million fresh meals to people impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world.

In 2022, WCK began serving hot meals within hours of the conflict breaking out in Ukraine and continues to provide fresh meals in towns and cities while at the same time providing meals for refugees in seven nearby countries. To date, WCK has served more than 37 million meals in response to the crisis in Ukraine.

WCK is first to the frontlines, providing freshly made, nutritious meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions.
