In 1993, the Hotel de Crillon hosted an haute couture fashion show with 27 Debs participating. Each Deb was provided with a cocktail dress as well as a ball gown by one couturier. 24 French couture houses took, part along with designers Vivienne Westwood, Bruce Oldfield and Gianni Versace.
With in attendance the Swedish countess Bettina Bernadotte wearing Yves St Laurent, Harumi Klossowska de Rola, the daughter of Balthus, in Hanae Mori, Angelique Hennessy in Guy Laroche and Marie de Noailles in Chanel and producer Robert Altman, IM Pei’s son and actress Charlotte Rampling as guests.
