For le Bal 1998, Debs came from Brazil, Britain, Italy, the United States and France to the Hotel de Crillon. They acted as models for French Haute Couture Houses, and three British designers. The Duchess of York’s sister, Alice Ferguson and her cousin Lady Marina Scrymgeour wore Christian Lacroix and Christian Dior, while Diane de Bourbon-Busset, from one of the oldest aristocratic families in France, wore Chanel. Leading French writer and journalist Stephane Bern presented the 25 girls.
Proceeds went to the Pierre and Marie Curie University’s research.
The Debs were adorned by Mikimoto pearls.
